People are strange. Have you noticed that?
It's not something that I've recently discovered and I suppose it's not all that revolutionary. But every once in a while it seems more prevalent then usual and now is one of those times.
Human nature is an odd thing.
Like the concept of wanting things we can't have, or not wanting things until we think we can't have them, which of course makes us want it more than anything else in the world.
It's true isn't it? Of course it is. Does it make sense?
Probably not.
But that doesn't keep it from being true. Our society as a whole doesn't seem to function with the purpose of making sense. That's the reason it is 'society' perhaps. It's the reason such a thing has flourished for so long, because people try to make sense of what's going on and what you end up with is what we call society. Kind of like a mixed average of the individual opinion. It's the foundation of being "politically correct." Which in itself of course doesn't make a whole lot of sense either. What is the criteria for being politically correct anyway?
Individual opinion, right? Is that not what the concept of being "politically correct" wishes to ameliorate or avoid? It's almost laughable.
When I was a kid I used to think I didn't understand adults and adult concepts because I was well...a kid. But the closer I get to adulthood, I'm beginning to realize that it wasn't because I was a kid that I didn't understand adults, maybe it was because they weren't meant to be understood.
